Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The Kanifing Magistrates\u2019 Court has granted bail to two individuals following their denials of obtaining money from a female Gambian on the pretext of making her rich.<\/b><\/p>\n

Biran Bah and Dawda Jallow late last week appeared before Magistrate Touray on the allegation of receiving D311, 200.00 from the complainant on the promise of making her rich; a representation they knew was false.<\/p>\n

The alleged offense, according to the charge sheet, was committed in November of this year at Bakoteh but the duo denied any wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

S.L Kebbeh, prosecuting, made an application to the court to deny Bah and Jallow court bail as, according to him, they may flee the jurisdiction or commit another crime if given liberty as their case continues.<\/p>\n

Prosecutor Kebbeh expressed the fear that granting bail to the two men could complicate investigations, saying the first accused is a Senegalese whilst the second accused was a resident of a village close to the border.<\/p>\n

However, the court granted them bail in the sum of D450, 000.00 and must provide two Gambian sureties.<\/p>\n
