Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>As part of their contribution to national development endeavors, Christ Embassy -The Gambia recently gave a facelift to Bakoteh Annex Lower Basic School with the renovation of the school toilets facilities.<\/b><\/p>\n

The move also referred to as the Global Day Service, was part of activities celebrating the birthday of their great man of God-Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome.<\/p>\n

Before the intervention of the Church, the school toilet facilities were in terrible shape, something that posed serious challenge to the school authorities. With the renovation works already completed, students and even teachers enjoy the luxury of using the facility without any hesitation such as the bad odour at the area.<\/p>\n

During a recent visit to inspect the works and present some toiletries, Edith Ibeneme, pastor at Chris Embassy Church, The Gambia, revealed that the move was in respect of what their man of God always preached to them.<\/p>\n

Pastor Ibeneme stated that in celebrating the birthday of their great man of God, Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome, they identified a need at the school for possible intervention.<\/p>\n

She disclosed that annually they looked out for a need and where they can reach out to meet that need, recalling that last year they embarked on a different project.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday we have come to present what we have done to the school authorities and also to give them some toiletries. We have given a facelift to the toilet facilities at the school after we saw their toilets were not in proper shape.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pastor Ibeneme disclosed that they decided to do something about it in view of the fact that when children visit toilets that are not healthy, they could contract some transmissible diseases and contaminate others.<\/p>\n

The move, she added, is in line with the church\u2019s philosophy of giving back to communities, adding when one visits these toilet facilities, he or she will see a big difference.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe toilets are looking very clean now, they\u2019ve been totally given a facelift and repainted. In fact, they are looking very beautiful now.\u201d<\/p>\n

She expressed the Church\u2019s resolve to support meaningful projects when the need arises, further expressing optimism that the items donated would serve it purpose.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Church also presented learning materials to the Christian students at the school to be better students and citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pastor Ibeneme thus thanked the school authorities for the warm welcome accorded the delegation, assuring that the visit marks the start of bigger projects in the near future.<\/p>\n

Receiving the Church delegation, Madam Binta Sylva, headteacher Bakoteh Annex Lower Basic School, in welcoming the delegation, briefed them about some background information of the school.<\/p>\n

The school, she added, has a total population of 3250 pupils and 119 teachers, further thanking the Church delegation for the facelift.<\/p>\n

She assured that they will always maintain the facility clean, further expressing her resolve to sign a MOU with the Chris Embassy Church-The Gambia.<\/p>\n
