This initiative marks a key highlight of the ongoing 2024 Legal Year Commemoration.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The ceremony witnessed the swearing-in of newly appointed Notaries Public and Commissioners for Oaths and Affidavits, recognizing their crucial roles in the legal system. Commissioners play a vital part in administering oaths and validating documents, while Notaries Public handle vital tasks like endorsing passports and certifying official documents.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Justice Hassan B. Jallow, addressing the association members, emphasized the importance of integrity and service in their endeavors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour appointments are meant to ensure that there is easier access for the man on the street, particularly in respect of authentication or preparation of documents. And we hope that you will rise to the challenge of providing services and providing services in a very honest manner. As Officers of the Court, you are expected to conduct yourselves, with honesty, integrity, and respect for the law. You are there essentially to serve the community. I want you to bear that in mind at all times,\u201d the Chief Justice said.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioners for Oaths hold the official designation of Judicial Officers, responsible for overseeing the execution of vital legal documents like affidavits and statutory declarations. Recognizing the importance of ongoing professional development, the Chief Justice announced a dedicated training program for the Association members. You should ensure that you familiarize yourselves with the law, and in particular, you should know your limitations.
