Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Staunch NPP supporter Baboucarr Jeng has said the proposed dialogue between the opposition and the ruling party is long overdue.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI felt that this is something that should have been done a long time ago. I would give the initiative a thumbs up because where there is no dialogue, there is always a misunderstanding, and everything that comes with misunderstanding can carry a misunderstanding which is so detrimental to a growing nation like TheGambia,\u201d Mr. Jeng explained when contacted for his comment on the proposed national dialogue of the NPP and the opposition.<\/p>\n

The State House has been reportedly making efforts to bring political opponents under one roof to dialogue on issues of national interest.<\/p>\n

\u201cCommunication is key in life and I believe dialogue is going to bring a lot of things that are hidden in the chests, hearts, and minds of people and bring[out] the bigger picture. I believe if the picture is clear and all of us have a clear picture of what type of nation we want, we can all put it in one box and sincerely work towards it, which is going to give us a positive change because Gambia belongs to all of us both the ruling party and the opposition,\u201d stated Jeng.<\/p>\n

He asserted that President Barrow had taken the right step by trying to involve his opponents in a dialogue.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe if he [Barrow] opens that dialogue, he is going to broaden his understanding and he is going to widen his perspective. I believe the dialogue is positive and I applaud it. I commend the President,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
