Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>At least more than thirty young energetic women in Busumbala, Kombo North, West Coast Region, recently gathered to form a new association called \u201cKambengKafo sisters Association\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n

The primary aim of the association, according to the founders, is to foster understanding and cooperation among its members and other groups or societies for the purpose of contributing effectively to the progress and development of women and children in the Gambia.<\/p>\n

The association comprises married women who have the ambition to engage into productive small and medium enterprises such as gardening, tailoring, soap making, food processing, tight-and dye, among other lucrative businesses.<\/p>\n

The ultimate aim of the Association is also to raise funds through legal means in accordance with the laws as part of the association\u2019s mission and objective.<\/p>\n

As a non-political association, the association shall have charitable in nature, initiate and execute programmes which are designed to benefit the vulnerable communities across the country.<\/p>\n

During the inaugural meeting, the adopted father of the association, Musa Nyockeh reminded the members about the ultimate purpose of the association and their meeting which he said was to hand over the constitution of the association with necessary documents.<\/p>\n

Mr Nyockeh also expressed profound gratitude and appreciation as the father of the association.<\/p>\n

He described his appointment as \u201ca big trust, and confidence\u201d that the women bestow on him to lead and advise them on the right footing.<\/p>\n

Mr. Nyockeh did not hesitate to assure them of his unflinching support whenever the need arises.<\/p>\n

He therefore, donated fifteen chairs to the association as a kick -start to use during their weekly meeting and assure of more support to the Association.<\/p>\n

For his part, Muhammed Sanneh and adviser dilated on the importance of unity and cooperation in the community and advised them to put the interest of the association on top of their agenda.<\/p>\n

Mr. Sanneh also challenged members to forget about their political differences and foster solidarity and cooperation among themselves.<\/p>\n

\u201cSolidarity is the foundation of human progress without cooperation and unit, forget about development,\u201d he observed.<\/p>\n

The president of the association, Ndey Saine extolled Mr Nyockeh for responding to their needs and expressed appreciation for the donated chairs to the association.<\/p>\n
