Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The CEO of GACH Global Group, Abubakary Jawara, has donated D200,000 to the Ala Promotion wrestling team as a fulfillment of a pledge he made for the Independence Day Combat. The Independence Day combat, organized by Ala Promotion, was named after President Adama Barrow.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to Mr. Jawara, GACH Global is committed to supporting all sporting disciplines in The Gambia moving forward as part of its strategic plan to invest in areas dominated by young people.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt gives me immense pride to support initiatives that would benefit Gambian youths directly. I have committed myself to ensuring that we focus more attention on sports, and this is why I have decided to organise a nationwide football tournament to foster peace and mutual understanding among Gambian youth,\u201d he said. He urged Gambians to continue supporting Gambian-owned businesses.<\/p>\n

Momodou Sabally, who personally reached out to Mr. Jawara, urging him to extend a helping hand to the wrestling community, said youth empowerment should be the passion of every genuine Gambian, adding that he is glad to have served as an intermediary between Ala Promotion and Mr. Jawara.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is my passion to champion matters that affect young people, and I have committed the rest of my life to fighting for them, especially when it comes to their social well-being,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added that the donation will go a long way in helping Ala Promotion reshape its future combats and reposition itself as a strong wrestling body.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a huge boost for the local economy. I am not surprised but impressed by this noble gesture of Mr. Jawara because he is consistent in his support for the development agenda of the president, who was the chief patron of the grand combat organized by Ala Promotion,\u201d Sabally added.<\/p>\n

Ala Promotion Manager extended gratitude to Mr. Jawara and assured him of his team\u2019s continued collaboration.<\/p>\n

CGSAA<\/b><\/p>\n

In a separate development, CEO Jawara also donated D150,000 to the China Gambia Students\u2019 Alumni Association on Monday 26 February 2024. The donation was made through his foundation, the Abubakary Jawara Foundation.<\/p>\n

The cash was presented by Yusupah Jawara, the president of the foundation, who also delivered a keynote speech during the event. The donation is expected to support the activities and initiatives of the China Gambia Students\u2019 Alumni Association, which works to foster connections and opportunities for Gambian students who have studied in China.<\/p>\n

Dr Jawara\u2019s philanthropic gesture demonstrates his commitment to supporting education and youth development in The Gambia.<\/p>\n
