Jaiteh, the managing director of the Gambia Public Procurement Authority (GPPA), has reaffirmed his institution&#8217;s commitment to transparency and fairness, claiming that his strategic direction for the institute is to ensure efficiency and fairness in all their dealings.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur strategic vision revolves around creating a dynamic procurement system that not only complies with global standards but also addresses the unique needs of our Nation,\u201d Mr Jaiteh said. \u201cBy embracing innovation and stakeholder collaboration, we aim to elevate the Gambia&#8217;s public procurement landscape to new heights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The GPPA MD, who was speaking yesterday at the validation of GPPA\u2019s procurement manuals, held at its conference center, said: \u201cWe are committed to enhancing procurement practices in the public sector as part of the activities of the procurement component under the Gambia Fiscal Development Management Project through support from World Bank and other stakeholders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The GPPA boss reiterated that they are committed to transparency, efficiency and fairness as reflected in their determination to streamline processes, uphold ethical standards, and ensure optimal use of resources in line with the GPPA Act 2022 and Regulations 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in a similar vein, Habibou Gaye, board Chairman of GPPA, stated that the procurement manual and forms underscore their commitment to cultivating a culture of good governance and responsible procurement practice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we embark on this validation process, it is imperative to recognise the crucial role that effective procurement systems play in promoting socioeconomic development, fostering healthy competition, and ensuring the optimal utilisation of public resources,\u201d he said. \u201cTransparent and accountable procurement processes not only reinforce public trust but also contribute to creating a level playing field for businesses, promoting fair competition and stimulating economic growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Gaye added that the GPPA procurement manual and forms had been \u201cmeticulously crafted\u201d to align with international best practices and address the specific needs and realities of the country as it served as a comprehensive guide for all stakeholders involved in the procurement process, \u201cproviding clarity, consistency, and uniformity\u201d in procedures and practices.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Mamadi Dampha, deputy permanent secretary of the Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs (MoFEA), affirmed that the procurement documents provide clear and comprehensive guidance for all stakeholders involved in the procurement process, promoting consistency, fairness, and integrity<\/p>\n<p>He urged all participants at the validation exercise to approach the task with thoroughness and attention to detail, since their feedback and insights would be instrumental in ensuring that the procurement manual and forms effectively address the challenges and requirements of procurement practitioners in the country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/gambia\">Gambia<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Gambia.
