Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Gambian athletes, Mariam Gina Bass Bittaye and Ebrima Camara have both secured a place in the final of the Women\u2019s and Men\u2019s 100 metres race of the ongoing 13th African Games, Accra 2023 on Monday.<\/b><\/p>\n

Gina Bass booked her place in the final after finishing 1st position with a timing of 11:37 seconds in the semifinal race.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old finished 1st position in the women\u2019s 100 metres heat one with a timing of 11:35 seconds.<\/p>\n

The Tubakuta-born Olympian, who last won a silver medal in the African Games, will be the favourite to win the women\u2019s 100 metres race final.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, The Gambia\u2019s 100 metre men\u2019s record holder Ebrima Camara has qualified for the men\u2019s 100 metres race final of the 13th African Games, Accra 2023 on Monday.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old finished 2nd position in the semifinal with a timing of 10:45 seconds.<\/p>\n

The Gambian-born athlete showed a magnificent performance after finishing 1st position with a timing of 10:49 second during his heat 1 in the 100 metre race.<\/p>\n

Adama Jammeh and Alieu Joof both set to miss the final.<\/p>\n

Jammeh failed to reach the final after finishing 4th position with a timing of 10:57 seconds in the semifinal.<\/p>\n

Alieu Joof is set to miss the final after failing to participate in the semi-finals due to injury.<\/p>\n

He finished 2nd position in the heat with timing of 10:71 seconds.<\/p>\n
