Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>ActionAid International The Gambia concluded a 3-day review and update of its existing Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework and reporting tools for effective and efficient service delivery.<\/b><\/p>\n

Held in Kunta-Kinteh Camp-Local Rights Programs (LRP -9), Albrada, Upper Niumi, North Bank Region, the review brought together LRP and core staff who are involved in the project and program-related activities and reporting.<\/p>\n

The review, according to organizers will help align their reporting templates with the reporting requirement of the current Country Strategic Plan VI M&E framework.<\/p>\n

Fafa O. Cham, Head of Policy and Programmes, ActionAid International The Gambia described reporting as very important to program implementation.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou need to tell people what you are doing, but if you don\u2019t, it means more or less you are not doing anything. This is why we thought, it\u2019s very vital to bring together our project managers, LRP managers, and their coordinators and partners to get them through our reporting tools that we have developed,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

He said the review will help the team to have an equal understanding of how to fill these reporting templates.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t want to see a case where people will talk about the same thing in a very different way. This can make analysis very difficult, but if we have a common understanding of the templates that will make life very easy for all of us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr. Cham expressed his impression on the level of participation of the team; while quite optimistic that at the end of the day, they will be able to produce quality reports that will be easily analyzed.<\/p>\n

Lamin K Sanneh, lead trainer and M&E Manager, AAIG said the workshop will deepen ActionAid staff\u2019s understanding of the fundamental M&E concepts and principles to learn about innovative approaches, tools, and techniques used to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of AAITG M&E-Framework and as well to gain clarity on the purpose and significance of M&E in the program or project management.<\/p>\n

He said by providing the necessary training and updating tools and templates, the organization is taking proactive steps to enhance the quality and effectiveness of its monitoring and evaluation practices.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis approach will help participants understand the changes in the tools and templates and enable them to utilize them effectively,\u201d he highlighted.<\/p>\n

Saikou Darboe, Manager LRP 9, Upper Niumi District said every institution should make M&E a priority to ensure programmes are implemented as planned.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis helps institutions to measure success in line with the international policy. Therefore it helps one to avoid failure,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
