Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The Deputy Leader of All People\u2019s Party (APP), Alagie Cham has said that the National People\u2019s Party (NPP) and United Democratic Party (UDP) can make a massive change in the country if they sideline their differences and join hands on the desk.<\/b><\/p>\n

Cham, who was a Sergeant in the Gambia Army Force (GAF) in the previous regime, urged both the leaders of the two political parties to focus on the development of the country and putting tangible plans to remedy the hardships, and the issues in the country rather than responding to each other unnecessarily.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fight between NPP and UDP is what makes Gambia sick because whenever the leader of NPP President Barrow and the leader of UDP lawyer Darboe are given the platform, they always keep criticizing one another or responding to each other regarding politics,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n

He described the two parties as birds of the same feathers, saying they are the toxicity of this country which is why the country is not making any progress.<\/p>\n

The Deputy APP Leader explained that when Barrow got the Presidential position and Ousainou Darboe left prison, they joined together, and most of the government officials were from the UDP, adding when Barrow had a misunderstanding with Darboe, he could not wipe the entire UDP in the system and some of those few in the system always sabotage what he does that is why the Gambia is sinking.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn my observation, UDP and NPP should not be in the front line in the upcoming 2026 presidential elections for the fact that if UDP wins the way they are sabotaging the current government is the same way they will sabotage UDP so the toxic in the system will continue forever,\u201d Cham stated.<\/p>\n

According to him, the best decision is to have another section of party to take over NPP and UDP, saying APP is joining hands with the Sobeya group to work together for the benefit of the country.<\/p>\n

He disclosed that there is a coalition in the making and advised all the political parties to consider the upcoming coalition since the NPP government has not made any improvements in the county and people want to see a system change.<\/p>\n
