Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Association of Gambian Manufacturers (AGM) one-day forum to enhance operational efficiency and governance structures funded by the European Union ended on Saturday at the Senegambia Beach Hotel, Kololi.<\/b><\/p>\n

The forum funded by the European Union, aimed to strengthen governance practices within the Gambian manufacturing sector to foster sustainable growth and development.<\/p>\n

It brought together industry leaders and technical experts to discuss and strategise on improving operational efficiency and governance structures. The program included insightful sessions led by distinguished speakers and facilitated interactive discussions among participants.<\/p>\n

Hon. Sir Farimang Saho, President of AGM in his opening remarks emphasised the significance of enhancing governance systems in driving the sector forward.<\/p>\n

He expressed gratitude to the European Union for their support and reiterated the AGM\u2019s commitment to advancing the interests of Gambian manufacturers through enhanced governance structures and operational efficiency.<\/p>\n

Technical Advisor, Fatou Mbenga, delivered a comprehensive overview of governance systems, followed by sessions on assessing current practices and identifying best practices and recommendations.<\/p>\n

Participants engaged in fruitful discussions on implementing recommendations and overcoming challenges, culminating in a group activity where action plans were discussed for enhancing the governance systems of the Association. The activity focused on identifying key steps, responsible parties, and timelines for implementation.<\/p>\n

The forum also witnessed the presentation of the revised AGM Constitution and amendments proposed by participants. Vice President, Mohammed Silla, presided over the vote on adopting the revised Constitution and discussions were held on the possible appointment of committees for its implementation.<\/p>\n

The day-long forum concluded with a call for continued collaboration and proactive measures to drive sustainable growth and development in the Gambian manufacturing sector.<\/p>\n
