Justice Omar MM Njie brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Commission. His illustrious career in the legal profession, coupled with a steadfast commitment to justice and fairness, positions him as a valuable addition to the Commission\u2019s esteemed panel,\u201d they announced.The announcement noted that the induction of Justice Njie into the Commission signifies The Gambia\u2019s legal community\u2019s pledge to uphold excellence and integrity.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis appointment reflects a dedication to upholding the highest standards of judicial governance and ensuring equitable access to justice for all citizens. The Judicial Service Commission, a vital institution tasked with pivotal responsibilities in maintaining the integrity and efficacy of The Gambia\u2019s legal system, is chaired by His Lordship, the Chief Justice. Comprising six distinguished members, the Commission holds a critical role in safeguarding the principles of justice and upholding the rule of law,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

The Judiciary further explained that the Judicial Service Commission\u2019s role is diverse, with critical tasks designed to boost the judiciary\u2019s performance and reach.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmong its responsibilities, the Commission is entrusted with appointing judicial officers, advising the President on judicial appointments, and recommending terms and conditions of service for judges and other judicial officers. Additionally, the Commission plays a pivotal role in proposing measures to improve court administration, implementing public education programs on the justice system, and exercising various others\u201d<\/p>\n
