Chris Wood admits he can\u2019t wait to watch Maxwel Cornet\u2019s end-of-season highlights reel after the Ivorian superstar\u2019s latest moment of magic.<\/p>\n

In-form Cornet, 25, clinched the Clarets a point as his second-half stunner capped an epic 3-3 draw against Crystal Palace.<\/p>\n

Wood and captain Ben Mee grabbed the goals for Burnley in the first half but two from Christian Benteke, followed by Marc Guehi\u2019s strike, meant the Clarets had to settle for a point.<\/p>\n

Cornet raised the roof with an unstoppable left-footed thunderbolt and New Zealand star Wood. 29, said: \u201cWe\u2019ll be sitting down at the end of the season just watching a highlights reel of his best goals!<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a fantastic, quality player \u2013 we see that in training and see that on the pitch.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re lucky to have him – and long may his form continue.<\/p>\n

\u201cUltimately we wanted three points today – and unfortunately we weren\u2019t able to get it.There were chances for both teams and we had more than enough opportunities to win it, but we didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s life – but it\u2019s another step, another performance in the right way and we\u2019re looking forward to the next game.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re improving every week and being consistent – that\u2019s what we are.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe results will come – we know that we just haven\u2019t kicked on yet.\u201d Kiwi star Wood netted twice for his country in their 2-0 win against The Gambia on Tuesday and returned from the international break brimming with confidence.<\/p>\n

And he wasted no time translating that form onto the Premier League stage, turning the Turf Moor tables midway through the first half with a clever angled header.<\/p>\n

Benteke had given Patrick Vieira\u2019s Palace the lead but after Mee crashed home a powerful header, Wood was on hand to seize the advantage after James Tarkwoski\u2019s knock-down.Benteke and Guehi scored twice before half-time to haul the Eagles back in front but just four minutes into the second half, that man Cornet struck to grab his fifth goal for the club since joining from Lyon this summer.<\/p>\n

Burnley remain two points adrift of safety but Wood hopes continuing to hit his goalscoring straps can propel them up the table.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI have high standards so I\u2019m looking to get a lot more goals, find my way and I\u2019m working hard to do that.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s obviously nice to score goals \u2013 I want to score as many as I can and tick them off both internationally and for my club.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was happy with those [goals for New Zealand] \u2013 it means I can take some momentum into this game. Hopefully there are a lot more to come.\u201d<\/p>\n
