Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>HANOVER \u2013 Last week trucks arrived at the Hanover Missionary Church (HMC), which served this year as one of the Operation Christmas Child Central drop offs for donors in North Wellington, Huron, Perth, Dufferin, Bruce and Grey Counties.<\/p>\n

Pastor David from HMC blessed the safe passage of these gifts before they were loaded onto the trucks destined for Mississauga; to be then loaded on a train to Calgary for processing.<\/p>\n

Many people in the area miss volunteering at a Processing Center here in Ontario. Perhaps in the future, a rotating centre will return to Ontario.<\/p>\n

The Hanover Drop Off Centre received 4,293 boxes, which included 902 boxes from Shilo Community Church. Port Elgin Shoreline Baptist Drop Off Centre also brought 869 shoeboxes collected in their area, and Rockcliff Church Drop Off Center in Owen Sound brought 937 shoebox gifts to be loaded for the journey.<\/p>\n

As a result, the grand total for the area was 6,099 which delighted all who were able to participate in this project to reach out to needy children who are suffering poverty, neglect, illness and hardships which those in Canada cannot imagine.<\/p>\n

This season shoeboxes from Canada will be sent to Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Costa Rica in Central America. Canadian boxes will also be sent to West Africa \u2013 Senegal, Guinea, Bissau, Sierra Leone and The Gambia.<\/p>\n

The local team is so grateful to everyone who donated financially and who gave extra items to be packed, as well as for the many hardworking volunteers who served to help brighten the lives of boys and girls who will be so overjoyed to receive a gift from Canada.<\/p>\n
