Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>By Binta Jaiteh The Gambians have urged President Adama Barrow to work on unifying and developing the country as he got re-elected into office for another five-year term.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Jaye Gaye, a prominent businesswoman, urged Barrow to concentrate on developing the country. \u201cI am calling on the Gambians to get up and work for our country and let him know that we the women of Tippa Garage are in support of his agenda,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet him assist the women and strengthen the educational system of the country as the youths are the future of tomorrow. I don\u2019t talk much on politics but in my view the elections are free and fair. let the Gambians know we are all related either one way or another, politics should not have space in our lives,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Ndey Cham in her own words said \u201clet\u2019s all forget about the violence and come together to develop the nation. All we need is development.\u201d She said holding grudges against each other will not solve any problem but rather add bitterness, so let everyone stay away from violence<\/p>\n

But for Mariama Ceesay she said: \u201cin my own view I don\u2019t think the elections are fair is our right to complain if the election is not fair even the law is clear on that am calling on all the UDP supporters to maintain the peace and solidarity and allow our leaders and the court to handle the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not creating any problem but exercising our rights as a good citizen and that is why we have democracy to be free and have freedom,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Alpha stated that \u201csince the Almighty has decided who will oppose, all that we are looking for is a leader that is ready to sacrifice and know the demands of the people. We should try and fight tribalism in this country because it will end up with people getting hurt when it is time to work let\u2019s work and forget about politics.\u201d<\/p>\n
