This figure represents an increase in candidature of 13.11% over the previous year\u2019s entry figure of 14,353 candidates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOut of the 16,234 candidates that registered for the examination, 7, 144 (44.016) were male while 9090 (55.99%) were female.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WAEC further disclosed that in the 2021 WASSCE for School Candidates, candidates in The Gambia registered in 32 subjects, which included English language, Mathematics and a host of Science, Art, Commerce, Technical and Vocational Subjects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNine hundred and thirty-four (934) candidates (5.75%) obtained credit, passes in five subjects and above, including English language and Mathematics. On gender basis, 461 (6.45%) male candidates had credit passes in five subjects and above, including English language and Mathematics. On the other hand, 475 (5.20%) female candidates had credit passes in five subjects and above, including English language and Mathematics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the summary of student performance; a total of three-hundred and one students secured credit passes in nine subjects, representing 1.85%; four hundred and fifty-one obtained credit passes in 8 subjects, representing 2.75%; five hundred and ninety-five scored credit passes in seven subjects, representing 3.67%.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdditionally, six-hundred and seventy-four secured credit passes in six subjects, representing 4.15%; eight-hundred and eight students got credit passes in five subjects, representing 4.98%. One-thousand and sixty-one students obtained credit passes in four subjects representing 6.54%; while one thousand, four-hundred and ten students secured credit passes in three subjects, representing 8.69%. Also one thousand, nine-hundred and eighty-nine students get credit passes in two subjects, representing 12.25%.
