Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The purpose of publishing this first edition of the magazine is to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the Republic of The Gambia and the People\u2019s Republic of China. The magazine provides information about the bilateral relations as well as important information about The Gambia, including Trade, Investment opportunities and Travel & Tourism.<\/p>\n

This further aims at strengthening the economic and trade cooperation between The Gambia and China and also provides an opportunity to present The Gambia as an ideal trade, investment and tourism destination to Chinese companies and people. This magazine would serve as a medium through which readers can have a better understanding and appreciation of The Gambia.<\/p>\n

The Gambia Embassy officials said the first publication marks an important milestone in the Embassy\u2019s work in Beijing as information constitutes one of their key tools of diplomacy. They further added that the Embassy will continuously attach great importance to public diplomacy as it is an important part of international relations.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s my fervent hope that this magazine will serve as a medium through which you can have a better understanding and appreciation of our country The Gambia famously referred to as the Smiling Coast of Africa. We encourage you to visit The Gambia and discover the home of Kunta Kinteh,\u201d Ambassador Masanneh Nyuku Kinteh said.<\/p>\n

The magazine further captured a statement made by President Adama Barrow in September 2018, saying: \u201cThe Gambia will unswervingly uphold the one-China policy without any hesitation and is committed to consolidating the win-win partnership with China, which fully conforms to the will of Gambian people. Cooperation with China will enable The Gambia to speed up its development.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile his counterpart, President Xi Jinping of The Republic of China who was also featured in the Magazine, said: \u201cChina supports Gambian government\u2019s efforts in building the new Gambia and is willing to increase pragmatic cooperation and expand people-to-people exchanges with the western African country.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Energy, the magazine also featured that the government of The Gambia has put in a place a national energy policy, a national energy strategy as well as national renewable energy law and feed-in tariff that is geared towards opening the renewable energy sector for enhanced private sector investment among others.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the area of Sea Transport, it further highlighted that the Port of Banjul is the main seaport that serves The Gambia\u2019s seaborne trade and is one of the World\u2019s busiest shipping lanes. It\u2019s situated at latitude 13 degrees 27\u2019 North and Longitude 16 degrees 34\u2019 West and located on the estuary of the River Gambia, 26 nautical miles away from the Atlantic Ocean.<\/p>\n

Sustaining gains registered in immunization coverage reducing infant and maternal mortality. Combating the problems of HIV\/AIDS, malaria and other diseases through the strengthening of the primary, secondary and tertiary health care.<\/p>\n
