Jallow on Monday, 7 July 2025, officially opened a national retreat for Permanent Secretaries at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The retreat brought together senior government officials from various ministries to reflect, strategize, and enhance cross-ministerial coordination aimed at strengthening policy implementation and improving public service delivery.<\/p>\n<p>In his keynote address, Vice President Jallow underscored the pivotal role of Permanent Secretaries as the principal accounting officers of their respective ministries, emphasizing their responsibility in translating government policies into concrete outcomes.\u201cAs the principal accounting officers of your respective ministries, you are responsible for ensuring that these deliverables move from policy to action,\u201d VP Jallow stated.<\/p>\n<p>VP Jallow described the retreat not merely as a technical engagement but as a platform for accountability and performance assessment that directly informs Cabinet oversight.
