This assistance is significantly strengthening their capacity and boosting rice production in the area.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>ModouJadama, the ROOTS Project Focal Point in NooKunda, along with Ba SaikouKanteh, the Regional President of rice farmers, emphasized the project\u2019s importance and the need for farmers to adopt the best agronomic practices to maximize their yields.<\/p>\n<p>The comprehensive support provided to regional rice farmers includes 70 hectares of plowing, 3,500 kilograms of rice seeds, 420 bags of fertilizer, and 210 liters of herbicides.<\/p>\n<p>In their first year of engagement with the project, the community received assistance for plowing 45 hectares, 270 bags of fertilizer, 2,250 kilograms of rice seeds, and 135 liters of herbicide.<\/p>\n<p>FodayGassama from Saaba described the partnership with the ROOTS Project as a \u201cdream come true,\u201d highlighting its immense contribution to increasing production and achieving food and seed security. He noted that the community upheld all its agreements, achieving a 100% payment rate.<\/p>\n<p>Gassama confirmed that the support continued this year, with farmers receiving services for plowing 60 hectares, 3,000 kilograms of rice seeds, 420 bags of fertilizer, and 210 liters of herbicide. He attributes this ongoing support to the significant increase in rice production and the enhanced capacity of the farmers.<\/p>\n<p>For 2025, the ROOTS Project\u2019s subsidized input package targets 18 communities, aiming to cover 674 hectares of plowing, and provide 28,450 kilograms of rice seeds, 4,044 bags of fertilizer, and 2,022 liters of herbicides.
