{"id":81898,"date":"2025-07-12T18:13:01","date_gmt":"2025-07-12T18:13:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/gambia\/uncategorized\/fifa-displays-world-club-cup-ahead-of-finals"},"modified":"2025-07-12T19:38:20","modified_gmt":"2025-07-12T19:38:20","slug":"fifa-displays-world-club-cup-ahead-of-finals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/gambia\/all-news\/fifa-displays-world-club-cup-ahead-of-finals","title":{"rendered":"FIFA Displays World Club Cup Ahead of Finals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Gambia. <\/strong><\/span><b>FIFA \u2013 organisers have displayed the iconic FIFA Club World Cup trophy at the Trump Tower in New York, ahead of the finals on Sunday, July 13, at the Met Life Stadium, New Jersey.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The trophy would be a five-day display at the Trump Tower, in the heart of Manhattan, one of the most busiest centers in New York.<\/p>\n<p>The public trophy display was after a tour of the countries of all the 32 participating countries and it is afford the public the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the trophy and also whip up enthusiasm ahead of the finals.<\/p>\n<p>Presenting the trophy, FIFA President Gianni\u2019 Infantino said \u201cWe are here today in Trump Tower (and it\u2019s) a great pleasure and great honour to not just unveil officially the (FIFA Club World Cup Trophy) in New York, but to tell everyone&#8230;that this trophy will be on display until the final&#8230;open for everyone, every fan of football or soccer,\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Thanking President Donald Trump and the United States government for their \u201cincredible\u201d support in hosting the tournament, Mr Infantino added: \u201cWe brought fans from all over the world, 168 countries&#8230;Until now, over 2.26 million fans (have) visited the matches.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe emotions and the passion, of the fans at the matches (and) of the players, have been truly, truly incredible. Players from 72 different countries played in the FIFA Club World Cup. Teams from all six continents scored at least one goal, won at least one point in the FIFA Club World Cup, which shows that football \u2013 or soccer \u2013 is global.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The FIFA President added that the competition had brought people together to celebrate in harmony.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is what football does \u2013 what FIFA wants to do \u2013 to bring the world together, and our motto, as well, for this FIFA Club World Cup is to \u2018Unite for Peace\u2019. We need peace in these troubled times, and we\u2019re all working (in) this direction.
