{"id":83676,"date":"2025-08-09T18:17:47","date_gmt":"2025-08-09T18:17:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/gambia\/uncategorized\/gambia-to-host-2025-ecowas-sustainable-energy-forum"},"modified":"2025-08-11T16:48:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-11T16:48:12","slug":"gambia-to-host-2025-ecowas-sustainable-energy-forum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/gambia\/all-news\/gambia-to-host-2025-ecowas-sustainable-energy-forum","title":{"rendered":"Gambia to Host 2025 ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Gambia. <\/strong><\/span><b>The Gambia is set to host the 2025 edition of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF) from September 18 to 19 at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Center in Bijilo.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The high-level gathering will serve as a platform to drive investments and policy reforms aimed at tackling persistent energy access challenges, accelerating the adoption of clean energy technologies, and fostering resilient, inclusive energy systems across West Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Held under the theme \u201cAccelerating Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Solutions for Growth in the ECOWAS Region,\u201d the event will bring together ministers, private sector leaders, development partners, and civil society representatives for strategic discussions on advancing the region\u2019s sustainable energy agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a press briefing, Nani Juwara, Minister of Petroleum, Energy, and Mines, described the forum as a crucial opportunity to strengthen regional cooperation and expand investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency.\u201cThis forum is an opportunity for us to showcase the country\u2019s renewable energy potential to would-be investors that will be attending the forum,\u201d Minister Juwara stated.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that ESEF 2025 underscores ECOWAS\u2019 commitment to enhancing institutional, policy, and regulatory frameworks to fast-track the region\u2019s transition toward sustainable energy.
