Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Ten individuals have admitted guilt to charges of common nuisance before Magistrate Touray at the Kanifing Magistrate\u2019s Court. The case, prosecuted by Sgt. 4370 E.M. Jallow on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, stems from allegations of public disturbance and endangerment at Kololi Tavern.<\/b><\/p>\n

The defendants\u2014Dawda Ceesay, Omar Touray, Mustapha Corr, Muhammed Awe, Ebrima Secka, Muhammed Jarju, Lamin Suwareh, Ebrima Krubally, Katim Gaye, Muhammed Mboob, and Nfamara Manneh\u2014were charged under Section 137(1) of the Criminal Offences Act 2025. The charge sheet states that on August 12, 2025, they allegedly obstructed public access and caused inconvenience and danger at the tavern.<\/p>\n

While ten of the accused entered guilty pleas, Ebrima Krubally, the eighth defendant, maintained his innocence. The case has been adjourned to August 21, 2025, at 12:30 PM, for sentencing of the convicted individuals and the potential hearing of the first prosecution witness against Krubally.<\/p>\n

Authorities reported that the arrests followed numerous complaints from Kololi Tavern residents concerning drug-related activities, robberies, and assaults on schoolchildren. On the day of the incident, officers from the Kotu Anti-Crime Unit intercepted the suspects during a routine patrol. After failing to provide a credible reason for their presence, they were taken into custody and formally charged.<\/p>\n
