Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The Gambia is set to host the CAVB U18 Youth Development Cup, a major continental beach volleyball tournament that will bring together top youth talent from across Africa.<\/b><\/p>\n

The event will run from September 2 to 7, 2025, and is part of the African Volleyball Confederation\u2019s (CAVB) initiative to strengthen youth development and promote Olympic values across the continent.<\/p>\n

This tournament plays a key role in preparing African athletes for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, where beach volleyball will be a featured event.<\/p>\n

In a related development, The Gambia will also host the International Referee Candidate Course (IRCC) from August 31 to September 7, 2025, in Banjul.<\/p>\n

Organized by the CAVB, the course aims to elevate the technical and officiating standards of beach volleyball referees to meet international requirements.<\/p>\n

The IRCC is part of CAVB\u2019s strategic objective to expand Africa\u2019s pool of internationally certified beach volleyball referees, especially among national federations that currently lack such credentials. Both events are seen as pivotal in enhancing the continent\u2019s competitive edge and visibility in global volleyball.<\/p>\n
