Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>A three-day training on good governance, conflict resolution and management, project and program planning and implementation among others for West Coast Region districts, and regional executive members of NaLOA has recently ended at the Governor\u2019s Office, Brikama, West Coast Region.<\/p>\n

The training was organized by the Department of Community Development in partnership with the National Livestock Owners Association and brought together 30 participants which included milk, meat vendors, butchers and small ruminant dealers. The project was funded by Small Ruminant Production Enhancement.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the forum the program officer at Department of Community Development, Kajali Kanyi, underscored the importance of the forum saying it meant to build the capacity of participants on good governance to help them better manage their association.<\/p>\n

The regional community development officer, Njaga Khan, explained that the Small Ruminant Production Enhancement Project is meant to increase the population of the small ruminants, alleviate poverty, food insecurity and provide job creation opportunities for women and youth.<\/p>\n

He urged participants to disseminate the knowledge gain in their respective communities. The National Livestock Owners Association president Ebrima O. Jallow stressed the importance of the capacity building and described the training as first of its kind for members of the association.<\/p>\n

He commended the department of community development for the initiative saying this will enable members understands the importance of good governance, project and program planning.<\/p>\n
