Sambou at the Brikama Magistrates\u2019 Court on Thursday,28th August 2025, to face separate assault charges.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The police prosecutor, Inspector E. Ceesay, represented the Inspector General of Police. The accused were unrepresented.<\/p>\n<p>Abdoulie Darboe was charged with common assault, an offense contrary to Section 195 of the Criminal Offences Act. He is accused of assaulting Muhammed Sillah on July 31, 2025, in New Yundum Village.<\/p>\n<p>On a separate charge, Sulayman Darboe was accused of assault causing actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 196 of the Criminal Offences Act. He allegedly stabbed the same victim, Muhammed Sillah, in the head with a knife on the same date and in the same location, causing him injury.<\/p>\n<p>Both men pleaded not guilty after the charges were read in English and translated into Mandinka to them.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutor Ceesay requested an adjournment to call the first witness and did not object to the accused being granted bail.<\/p>\n<p>The court granted both men bail in the amount of D50,000.00 each, with the condition of one Gambian surety apiece.
