The extension, which is the third for the commission, is effective from September 1 to September 30, 2025.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Legal Notice No. 17 of 2025, issued by His Excellency Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia, formally extends the commission\u2019s duration. The notice states the extension is \u201cdeemed to have come into effect from September 1 to 30th, 2025,\u201d and was issued on August 29, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission of Inquiry was established to investigate the conduct of all local government councils and related matters. The purpose of the extension is to allow the commission to complete its work.<\/p>\n<p>The legal notice, which is a supplement to The Gambia Gazette No. 36 of September 2, 2025, cites the powers conferred on the President by Legal Notice No. 13 of 2024.
