Those countries \u201cnow face stringent import restrictions, ensuring that seafood entering US markets adhere to the same high standards as American-caught seafood,\u201d the agency said in a release.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning in January, 12 nations will be fully barred from importing seafood to US markets. They are: The Gambia, Benin, Grenada, Guinea, Haiti, Iran, Namibia, New Caledonia, Russia, Saint Lucia, Togo and Venezuela.
