These included Trust Bank account statements, reconciliations of collections and deposits, and a list of payees with corresponding amounts collected.<\/p>\n<p>She explained that funds generated at subsidiary levels were initially deposited into commercial bank accounts before being transferred to the Central Bank of The Gambia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll collections that are done through the sub-subsidiary are deposited at that sub-subsidiary bank, a commercial bank account, whereby these funds will be transferred to central banks in the CRS,\u201d Macaulay told the committee.<\/p>\n<p>However, lawmakers expressed dissatisfaction with the delays in her response to earlier summons. The committee noted that although she was instructed on July 3, 2025, to provide the documents, her office only submitted them on August 20.<\/p>\n<p>Macaulay attributed the delay to the extensive collation process and competing requests from different government institutions, including the Ministry of Justice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt a point, the Ministry of Justice requested the documentation, and we were working on that, and then, all of a sudden, we had another request from the select committee, so the running around was a lot,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p>Committee Chairperson Hon. Abdoulie Ceesay criticized the Accountant General for what he described as a lack of seriousness in cooperating with the inquiry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have not even appeared before the panel of investigators to give your statement. A letter was sent to you; you received it, but you neither communicated nor appeared.
