Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Essa Mbaye Faal, leader of the APP-Sobeyaa party, has declared that The Gambia is \u201cbleeding\u201d due to what he described as incompetent and negligent leadership.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking during a Diaspora Bantaba held on Saturday, Faal said the nation is crying out for justice, dignity, and a leadership that genuinely cares for its people. He stressed the need to speak bluntly about what he called \u201cthe menace\u201d affecting the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur country is suffering. The Gambia is bleeding\u2014not from war, but from something just as destructive: corruption, neglect, and a government that has turned its back on the people,\u201d the presidential aspirant stated.<\/p>\n

He painted a grim picture of daily life for ordinary Gambians, claiming that families are struggling under a failed system. \u201cMothers walk miles to clinics in the provinces only to find there is no medicine. Fathers work tirelessly, only to have their earnings swallowed by rising prices and broken promises,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Faal further lamented the state of the healthcare system. \u201cWhen the sick go to hospitals, they are met not with care, but with empty beds, absent doctors, and utter hopelessness. This is not just mismanagement; it\u2019s the result of unpatriotic and cruel governance,\u201d he charged.<\/p>\n

According to Faal, corruption under the current administration has reached unprecedented levels. He cited reports from the National Audit Office, which he said reveal a \u201cgruesome list\u201d of financial mismanagement and malpractice.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are not isolated incidents,\u201d he said. \u201cThey are symptoms of a system that has lost its soul\u2014a glimpse into the rotten underbelly of Gambia\u2019s current administration.\u201d<\/p>\n

The APP-Sobeyaa leader drew a stark contrast between the political elite and ordinary citizens, accusing the former of enriching themselves while pushing the majority into poverty. \u201cFamilies who once lived with dignity are now forced to live on the margins\u2014or worse, beg for survival,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Faal also condemned the government\u2019s response to dissent, alleging that citizens who ask difficult questions are often met with arrogance and repression. \u201cCourageous youths who dare to speak out are arrested instead of being heard,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In making a case for his party, Faal emphasized that APP-Sobeyaa stands for a new kind of leadership\u2014one rooted in service. \u201cWe envision a Gambia where public service truly means serving the people, where hospitals heal, schools educate, and leaders listen and act,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
