Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The Drug Law Enforcement Agency, The Gambia (DLEAG), has arrested a 40-year-old Gambian national, Musa Krubally of Sanchaba Sulay Jobe, for possessing of a substantial quantity of ecstasy.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the agency, Krubally was apprehended in Kololi on Friday, 27 September 2025, at around 23:30 GMT with 2,160 ecstasy pills. He remains in custody as further investigations continue.<\/p>\n

In a statement, DLEAG confirmed that the arrest followed standard operational procedures and that the suspect is being held pending additional inquiries.<\/p>\n

During the reporting period from 19 to 26 September 2025, the agency recorded 11 drug-related cases involving 12 adult males, of whom 10 were Gambians. The remaining suspect, a Senegalese national, was arrested at the Barra Ferry terminal in the North Bank Region for possession of two small plastic bags of crystal methamphetamine, the Agency noted.<\/p>\n

The agency also reported significant seizures of other controlled substances across the country during the same period. These included cannabis sativa, cannabis resin (hashish), skunk cannabis, kush, ecstasy tablets, cocaine, and crystal meth.<\/p>\n

Beyond enforcement, DLEAG says it continues to prioritize preventive measures and community sensitization. The agency conducted radio talk shows on GRTS, Islamic Al-Falaq, and Paradise Farafenni FM to educate the public on the dangers of illicit drug trafficking and abuse. In addition, its North Bank Regional Command took part as a resource partner in a United Nations Development Program (UNDP) initiative in Soma, Lower River Region, aimed at raising awareness among youths about the risks associated with drugs.<\/p>\n

Through these combined enforcement and educational efforts, DLEAG emphasizes its commitment to combating drug trafficking and abuse while safeguarding communities across The Gambia.<\/p>\n
