Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) has confirmed a 16-athlete squad to represent the country at the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games, scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 7 to 21.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Gambian team includes nine athletes in athletics, two in swimming, two in judo, and one each in taekwondo, para athletics, and karate.<\/p>\n

In swimming, Ousman Jobe will compete in the 50m butterfly and freestyle, as well as the 100m freestyle. Pap D. Jonga will also contest the 50m butterfly and freestyle, along with the 100m freestyle events.<\/p>\n

Athletics representatives are Ansu Badgie (100m), Ebrima Camara (100m), Adama Jammeh (200m), Alieu Joof (200m), Jalika Bajinka (200m and 4x100m relay), Mariama Camara (4x100m relay), Nyimasata Jawneh (100m and 4x100m relay), Serreh Sanneh (Long Jump), Isatou Sey (100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay), and Ali Kah, who will compete in para-athletics T53\/54.<\/p>\n

The judo squad features Faye Njie (73kg) and Abdourahman Ceesay (100kg). Emmanuel Mendy will represent Gambia in karate (Men\u2019s Kumite 75kg), while Mariama Sambo Marchinski will compete in taekwondo under 57kg.<\/p>\n

Gambia will be aiming to defend its titles in the women\u2019s 4x100m relay and women\u2019s 200m events during the Games.<\/p>\n

The GNOC expressed confidence that the athletes are well-prepared and ready to showcase Gambian talent on the regional stage.<\/p>\n
