Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Talib Ahmed Bensouda, Mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) and leader of the newly established Unite Movement for Change, has described Gambian politics as \u201cdirty and low,\u201d asserting that such practices are incompatible with a country striving for progress.<\/b><\/p>\n

In an audio message shared with his supporters, Mayor Bensouda criticized the current political environment, which he said is dominated by personal attacks and insults.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday Gambian politics is all about insults and saying bad things about people. The politics of a country that wants to advance should not be like that,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n

The mayor attributed the slow progress in Gambian politics and governance to the prevalence of personality-driven politics. He urged citizens and political actors alike to refrain from framing or insulting others. \u201cDo not frame or insult others,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Bensouda called for a new political culture rooted in ideas, programs, and policies, which he believes are the true drivers of national development.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet us compete on ideas, programs, and policies,\u201d he urged. \u201cThose who insult, forgive them and leave them to Allah\u2014they simply do not know any better.\u201d<\/p>\n
