Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Following the official declaration of the 2025\/2026 winter tourism opening in the first week of October in Destination Gambia, the TUI maiden flight from Belgium was on Friday, 24th October, 2025, and received at the Banjul International Airport (BIA).<\/b><\/p>\n

The flight was warmly received by officials of the Gambia Tourism Board (GTBoard) and ground handlers from Gambia Tours, marking another milestone in the country\u2019s tourism calendar.<\/p>\n

TUI, one of the world\u2019s largest tour operators, continues to be a key partner in promoting The Gambia as a preferred winter destination. The airline operates regular flights from the United Kingdom, Holland, and Belgium during winter, connecting European tourists to the Smiling Coast of Africa.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, the excited holidaymakers were treated to a lively cultural performance by traditional drummers and dancers, a signature Gambian welcome that instantly set the tone for their stay. Many visitors joined in the celebration, dancing and taking photos with the performers in an atmosphere filled with joy and hospitality.<\/p>\n

As the tourism season enters its peak period soon, TUI flights are expected to increase in frequency, depending on passenger demand and bookings from across Europe.<\/p>\n

The winter season remains one of the most vibrant periods for The Gambia\u2019s economy, a time when tourism stakeholders, entrepreneurs, and youth benefit significantly from the influx of visitors.
