Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Hassan B. Jallow, Chief Justice of the Republic of The Gambia, has been appointed Vice Chair of the African Chief Justices Forum. The appointment was announced during the African Chief Justices\u2019 International Commercial Arbitration Summit, held at Pepperdine University\u2019s Cha\u0302teau d\u2019Hauteville in Switzerland.<\/b><\/p>\n

The African Chief Justices Forum serves as a continental platform aimed at promoting judicial dialogue, cooperation, and reform across Africa.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the Judiciary of The Gambia described Chief Justice Jallow\u2019s appointment as a recognition of the country\u2019s growing influence in advancing judicial integrity and innovation on the continent.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe participation of The Gambia\u2019s delegation reflects the judiciary\u2019s ongoing commitment to global legal excellence, institutional development, and the peaceful resolution of commercial disputes,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

It added that the appointment underscores the importance of equipping judicial leaders with the necessary tools and networks to address complex transnational legal issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Judiciary of The Gambia remains dedicated to fostering international partnerships and advancing justice systems that are responsive, transparent, and aligned with global standards,\u201d the statement concluded.<\/p>\n

The summit, held from 26 to 31 October 2025, brought together senior judicial leaders from across Africa to discuss ways to strengthen judicial cooperation, enhance dispute resolution mechanisms, and promote legal innovation. Chief Justice Jallow was accompanied by Hon. Justice Omar Cham of The Gambia\u2019s High Court.<\/p>\n
