Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The Gambia\u2019s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Her Excellency Fatou Bom Bensouda, has formally presented her Letters of Credence to His Most Eminent Highness Fra\u2019 John T. Dunlap, Prince and 81st Grand Master of the Order.<\/b><\/p>\n

The ceremony took place on 19 November 2025 in Rome, according to a statement issued by the Gambia High Commission in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

During the presentation, Ambassador Bensouda conveyed warm fraternal greetings from President Adama Barrow and reaffirmed The Gambia\u2019s commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties and expanding cooperation with the centuries-old humanitarian Order.<\/p>\n

Following the ceremony, the Ambassador was received in audience by the Grand Master. Discussions centred on deepening collaboration in key areas where the Order is globally renowned, including humanitarian assistance, primary healthcare development, emergency medical relief, hospital management, disaster response, and support for displaced and vulnerable populations.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Bensouda expressed appreciation for the Order\u2019s longstanding humanitarian service across the world, while the Grand Master welcomed The Gambia\u2019s openness to building a dynamic partnership rooted in shared values of compassion, service, and human dignity.<\/p>\n

The Government of The Gambia, the statement added, looks forward to developing impactful initiatives in partnership with the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to benefit Gambians and further strengthen the cordial relations between the two sides.<\/p>\n
