To sustain growth and improve living standards, it is essential to pursue and accelerate transformational reforms,\u201d said Ephrem Niyongabo, World Bank economist and task team leader for the project.<\/p>\n<p>He notes that this is the first development policy support operation aimed at underpinning reforms for inclusive and sustainable growth.<\/p>\n<p>The program rests on three pillars: <b>Revenue Mobilization,<\/b> focusing on expanding the tax base and rationalizing tax expenditures; <b>Private Sector Development,<\/b> targeting bottlenecks in sectors such as energy, telecommunications, and business environment while advancing human capital development for women and youth; and <b>Climate Resilience<\/b>, which strengthens institutional and legal frameworks for climate action and coastal zone management.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis financing will allow The Gambia to build fiscal space, improve the business environment, and enhance private sector participation.
