Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Africell on Tuesday, January 20, officially rebranded its corporate department and launched Africell Business at a high-level event held at the OIC Conference Centre, bringing together senior government officials, diplomats, and representatives from companies and institutions across the public and private sectors.<\/b><\/p>\n

The event marked an important milestone in Africell\u2019s enterprise journey, reaffirming the company\u2019s long-term commitment to supporting businesses through reliable connectivity, digital innovation and tailored solutions designed for a rapidly evolving economy.<\/p>\n

In his opening address, Africell Gambia CEO, Hussein Diab-Ghanem<\/b>, explained that Africell Business is built on a digital-first approach<\/b>, supported by stronger account management, faster responsiveness and a deeper understanding of the operational needs of companies.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis includes integrated financial services through Afrimoney, the planned launch of our enterprise server hosting and corporate data centre solutions, and the expansion of our IoT SIM solutions, already enabling organisations to manage fleets, sensors and remote devices more efficiently across The Gambia,\u201d Diab-Ghanem said.<\/p>\n

He noted that the launch brings greater focus and structure to Africell\u2019s corporate offering, allowing the company to deliver more customised and scalable solutions to institutions and enterprises across sectors.<\/p>\n

The importance of the initiative was echoed by the Minister of Information and Media Broadcasting, Dr. Ismaila Ceesay<\/b>, who described the introduction of a dedicated corporate service line as a strategic investment in the country\u2019s digital future.<\/p>\n

\u201cSustainable development is best achieved through strong public-private partnerships. Telecommunications companies like Africell play a critical role not only as service providers but as partners in development, innovation and national resilience,\u201d the Minister said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe therefore welcome Africell\u2019s continued investment in network expansion, technology upgrades, skills development and local employment. These efforts contribute directly to economic growth and help ensure that no one is left behind in this digital age.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also speaking at the event, Kebba Njie<\/b>, Managing Director of SaHel Invest, highlighted the central role telecommunications now play in modern business operations.<\/p>\n

\u201cBusinesses today \u2014 whether in banking, tourism, logistics, agribusiness, education, healthcare or the creative economy \u2014 depend on uninterrupted connectivity to operate, to scale and to compete,\u201d said Njie.<\/p>\n

He added that Africell\u2019s renewed focus on tailor-made enterprise solutions positions the company as a catalyst for progress.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe future of The Gambia\u2019s economy will be shaped by how effectively our businesses leverage technology to innovate, to compete and to grow. By launching Africell Business, Africell is aligning itself with that future, standing alongside enterprises not just as a connectivity provider, but as a strategic enabler of productivity and progress.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the event, Ben Okoro, Africell Group Head of Corporate Business<\/b>, announced the upcoming launch of a new Africell Business Portal<\/b>, designed and developed in-house to enhance independence and convenience for corporate clients.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis portal is designed as a true one-stop shop for managing your corporate account with us,\u201d Okoro explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough it, clients will be able to track invoices, view account dashboards, register and manage accounts, verify payments and access agent support \u2014 all in one place.\u201d<\/p>\n

As part of the celebrations, Africell also rewarded its corporate customers through a lucky draw and presented five special awards<\/b> recognising long-standing and impactful business partnerships.<\/p>\n

The Legacy Partnership Award<\/b> was presented to the British High Commission<\/b>, while MRC Gambia<\/b> received the Portfolio Excellence Award<\/b>. Eco Bank<\/b> was recognised with the Smart Payment Adoption Award<\/b>, DATA SLING<\/b> received the Enterprise Messaging Award<\/b>, and GT Bank<\/b> was honoured with the Connectivity Innovation Award<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The relaunch of Africell Business underscores Africell\u2019s ambition to remain a trusted enterprise partner, supporting organisations of all sizes as they grow, transform and compete in an increasingly digital economy.<\/p>\n
