Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>In a statement seen by The Point, Mr. Jallow said: \u201cAs the country prepares for another historic parliamentary election, I Haruna Jallow, wish to publicly declare my intention to run for a seat of Parliament in the Sami Constituency, CRR-n.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr. Jallow further declared that as a bonafide native of Sami District, he is legally qualified under the Constitutional and Electoral Laws of The Gambia, to contest for the seat of Parliament. Jallow with approval from his political team has unveiled interest to vie under the National People\u2019s Party (NPP) ticket if given the opportunity.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy intention to vie for this position came as a result of our dire need for effective representation for our constituency in the country\u2019s Parliament and other organs of the government. For far too long, Sami District has been struggling for a proper representation in the Parliament, which led to the continuous under-development of the district,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe youthful population of the district can compete against any other district but they have on numerous occasions been marginalised in constructive decision making and representation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jallow, assistant deputy director of Sami and Niani for Development Organisation (SANDO), said he has dedicated most of his life in serving the masses with immense pleasure and dedication, especially the people of Sami.<\/p>\n

The young aspirant lawmaker said following the formation of SANDO, he had the opportunity to meet and interact with the leaders of Sami and Niani districts and became familiar with their problems.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, I am prepared more than ever before to work with relevant stakeholders to solve these problems and bring more innovative development ideas, projects, and policies for the development of our district,\u201d he assured the people of Sami.<\/p>\n

Jallow called on the people of Sami Constituency to support his candidature so that they work collectively to transform the district following decades of marginalisation.<\/p>\n

Jallow holds a Higher Teacher’s Certificate (HTC) in Mathematics & Science from The Gambia College School of Education and BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of The Gambia (UTG).<\/p>\n
