Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC) has launched a self-service mobile application that allows customers to purchase Cash Power and pay water bills conveniently using their mobile phones.<\/b><\/p>\n

The new platform is designed to improve access to NAWEC\u2019s services, enabling users to carry out transactions anytime and from any location, without visiting payment offices.<\/p>\n

The mobile app is part of the company\u2019s ongoing efforts to modernize operations and enhance customer service. Users can securely buy electricity credit, settle outstanding water bills, and manage their utility accounts through a simple, user-friendly interface.<\/p>\n

Developed in collaboration with APS Wallet and Taybull, the initiative aims to enhance service delivery while reducing congestion at physical payment centers and minimizing delays, particularly during emergencies.<\/p>\n

Momodou S. Fatty, Head of Finance and Project Manager at NAWEC, highlighted the nationwide accessibility of the app, noting that it allows users to complete transactions from the comfort of their homes. \u201cThis makes life easier and cheaper for you. Before, you had to travel to a bank or a NAWEC branch to complete your transaction. Now, you can do it from your own zone,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Malick S. Jallow, General Manager of APS Wallet, urged NAWEC customers to adopt the app for purchasing Cash Power and paying water bills. He added that the app also increases APS Wallet\u2019s visibility and usage. Jallow described the partnership as mutually beneficial, promoting financial inclusion while supporting NAWEC\u2019s digitization drive through digital payment solutions.<\/p>\n

Ebrima Saidy, CEO of Taybull\/Zooblin, expressed appreciation to NAWEC for entrusting his team with the app\u2019s development. Saidy said the project contributes to enhancing service delivery through digital innovation.<\/p>\n

NAWEC stated that the app aligns with its broader digital transformation strategy, aimed at providing efficient, reliable, and accessible services to customers nationwide. The app also enables Gambians living abroad to purchase Cash Power and pay water bills for family members residing in the country.<\/p>\n
