Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>The presentation of the equipment was held at the hospital premises in Kanifing on Tuesday. The donated items included striking machines, blood covert machine, bed mattress and oxygen cylinder among others.<\/p>\n

Mathias Ketteler, chairman, Project Aid, said for the past years they have been supporting the government of The Gambia in the health sector by providing medical equipment to hospitals for better health care delivery.<\/p>\n

Abdoulie Charles Mbye, Project Aid’s local coordinator, said the partnership with the health sector is to complement the government’s effort to ensure local people benefit from whatever support they give.<\/p>\n

He added that the assistance will inspire local people to have a sense of belonging no matter what their backgrounds are. Lang Conteh, Project Aid’s board of director, said they previously supported Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital and Kerewan Health Centre.<\/p>\n

Abubacarr Saine, Kanifing General Hospital’s administrator, said the partnership which began many years ago has a lot of benefit with Project Aid The Gambia by donating valuable hospital materials to them. Mr. Saine added that whatever equipment Project Aid donates to the hospital are useful and will be used for their intended purpose.<\/p>\n
