Africa-Press – Gambia. <\/strong><\/span>Officers of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency Gambia stationed at Bansang on Friday arrested 58-year-old Hamadi Kandeh with firearms and suspected prohibited drugs.<\/p>\n

Officials said he was arrested allegedly with one big bundle, two medium bundles, seventeen parcels and some quantities of suspected cannabis sativa. The suspect was subsequently charged with possession of prohibited drugs and the use or possession of firearms.<\/p>\n

In a similar but separate development, the officers arrested one Faye Ceesay, a 57-year-old civil servant, with three parcels and twenty-four wraps of suspected cannabis sativa at Bansang while Zaidah Sanneh, a student, was also apprehended on the same day with four wraps and a smoking joint of cannabis sativa.<\/p>\n

The duo were taken into custody and charged with possession of prohibited drugs. Bakau Alagie Jallow, 18-year-old and one Shering Mass, 27, were arrested by officers of DLEAG in Bakau with twenty-two bundles, fifteen parcels and some quantities of suspected cannabis sativa at Latrikunda German. The said suspected prohibited drugs were wrapped with white and brown papers and concealed in two separate used flour bags.<\/p>\n

The officers also arrested 19-year-old Bakary Sowe in Lamin village, WCR for being in possession of five parcels of suspected cannabis sativa and thirteen pieces of suspected cannabis resin (hashish). The suspected cannabis sativa was concealed in a multi-color bag and the suspected Hashish in a used cigarette packet. All three suspects were taken into custody.<\/p>\n
