Africa-Press – Ghana. Mrs. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma, has made a passionate appeal for unity and cooperation among stakeholders to drive development and improve the lives of residents within the district.
Addressing the first ordinary meeting of the fifth assembly at Twedie, the DCE said although the district was confronted with numerous development challenges, those issues could only be effectively addressed through collective effort, mutual respect, and cooperation among all key actors.
“We owe it a duty to our electorates and the larger society to ensure that the people enjoy equitable development, good sanitation, improved road infrastructure, and lasting peace,” Mrs. Asamoah stated.
She said achieving these goals was a shared responsibility that involved the government, assembly members, the Member of Parliament, traditional rulers, heads of departments, and the general citizenry.
According to her, development and a better life for the citizenry could not rest on one person’s shoulders and stressed the need for all stakeholders to come together in unity to realise the development aspirations of the people.
She noted that the struggle for political power was over and urged all political actors and stakeholders to put aside partisan differences and focus on building a common front for the betterment of the district.
Mrs. Asamoah also outlined aspects of her development vision, which included improving education through infrastructure expansion and teacher motivation, enhancing healthcare delivery by strengthening CHPS compounds, and reshaping feeder roads.
She pledged to hold regular consultations with traditional authorities, opinion leaders, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to ensure inclusive and participatory local governance.
“With your support and the grace of God, I have no doubt we can achieve a substantial portion of this vision,” she said.
The DCE spoke comprehensively about plans to improve the lives of the people through the execution of critical development projects in the areas of health, education, agriculture, trade, security, water and sanitation,
