Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Ablekuma North Constituency, has toured some polling stations to observe the ongoing electoral process.
She was accompanied by a large crowd of NPP party suppoters and key personalities including Mr Bryan Acheampong, Member of Parliament (MP) for Abetifi; Mr Sammy Awuku, MP for Akuapem North; Mr Evans Nimako, Director of Elections; and Mr Dennis Miracles Aboagye, an aide to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia during the 2024 General Elections.

Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman of the NDC, arrived at the Pentecost Church Mount Zion Assembly in Kwashieman to interact with electoral officers and observe the voting process.
He was received with rousing cheers from enthusiastic party supporters.
“I will be surprised if we don’t win,” Mr Asiedu Nketia said, expressing confidence in the victory of Madam Ewurabena Aubynn, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Ablekuma North.
Police Service interdicts officer over alleged journalist’s assault.
“The officer concerned has been withdrawn from the ongoing election duty at Ablekuma North and in line with internal disciplinary procedures, he has been interdicted and referred to the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) for investigation.”
A news brief by Assistant Superintendent of Police Richmond Mensah of the Police Public Affairs Unit said.

NDC’s Mustapha Gbande and NPP’s Mavis Hawa Koomson engage in hearty debate
Mustapha Gbande, Deputy General Secretary, NDC, and Madam Mavis Hawa Koomson, Former Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, enagage in heated debate on Development issues in Ablekuma North.
The two faced off at the St John the Baptist Polling Centre as part of their tour of the 19 Polling stations
Mr Alfred Ato Allotey-Gaisie, Municipal Chief Executive of the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly, has commended the orderly nature of the electoral process and the security arrangements in place.
He encouraged citizens to maintain their composure to ensure the smooth conduct of the exercise.
Voting underway

Voting is underway at the Odorkor Divisional MTTD Station, Odorkor 1 Polling Station.
Voting commenced exactly 0700 hours.
A total of 113 voters are expected to cast their ballot.
As of 0740 hours four people had voted.
Voting starts at Presby Odorkor Church 4 Polling Station
Accra, 7:15AM
Accra, July 11, – Voting has commenced at the Presby Odorkor Church 4 Polling Station in the Ablekuma North Constituency.
Mr Abdul Kadiri, the Presiding Officer for the station, said election materials arrived on time, and voting began at exactly 0700 hours.
The press observed the presence of police officers to ensure calm and order. Election Officers, together with the Presiding Officer, are checking voters’ ID cards at the entrance before allowing entry to the perimeter.
A total of 112 people are expected to vote at the station.
As of 0727 hours, 10 people had cast their ballots.
Polls will close at 1700 hours, with a total of 6,839 voters expected to vote in the constituency.
Results from the 19 polling stations will complete the total of 281 polling station results required to determine the winner of the Ablekuma North parliamentary election, initially held on December 7, 2024.
