Africa-Press – Ghana. The Banda District Assembly in the Bono Region rakes in GH¢ 194,283,80.00 Internally Generated Fund (IGF) in 2025 half year, Mr Peter Dongi, the Banda District Chief Executive has said.
Describing the IGF as very low, he said the Assembly targeted to mobilize GH¢ 8.3 million in 2025, and urged revenue collectors to be up and doing, calling on tax payers to also honour their tax obligations for the assembly to generate the required IGF needed for development.
Nonetheless, Mr Dongi said the Assembly was putting in place innovations to enhance its revenue generation to augment that of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) to facilitate the development of the district.
Addressing the First Ordinary General Meeting of the Ninth Assembly at Banda-Ahenkro, the DCE said the Assembly remained committed to utilize its IGF judiciously and for development, and urged the people to pay their taxes and rates promptly.
He said effective and efficient mobilization and utilization of financial resources remained key to advancing the development agenda of the Assembly, adding a taskforce had been set up to enforce the payment of taxes, rates and fees.
Mr Dongi said the assembly had also intensified community sensitization on the need for the people to pay their taxes, and urged traditional authorities in the area to also support the revenue generation drive.
