Media Urged to Register for Accreditation before Funeral

Africa-Press – Ghana. The Government has extended invitations to media houses and their representatives to register to cover the State Funeral for the nation’s gallant eight, who fell in the line of duty.

A statement issued by Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister of State in-charge of Government Communications, said the solemn event would be conducted according to specific arrangements.

It said to ensure a well-organised event, journalists and all media houses wishing to cover the State Funeral should note that there would be limited accreditation for photographers and camera operators to access the special media zone within the inner perimeter.

“This is to ensure optimal space and decorum during the ceremony,” it said.

“Reporters are welcome to join the mourners and well-wishers or access the media stands, which do not require any form of accreditation.”

The statement said applications for accreditation must be submitted by media houses for photographers and camera operators only via email to [email protected] by midday (noon GMT) on Wednesday, 13 August, 2025.

Touching on clean feed availability, the statement said to facilitate comprehensive live coverage, Presidency Communications would provide a dedicated clean feed for all local and international TV stations and other media houses wishing to air the event live on their channels.

It said the feed would be available on site and their dedicated Outdoor Broadcast channel on the DTH decoder.

This feed, the statement said would be the primary source for the live broadcast.

With regard to Studio Discussions/Live Broadcasts, the statement said radio and TV stations, along with other media outlets planning studio discussions or live remote broadcasts, would be assigned a designated area.

It said there would be access points to connect for the clean video feed and audio; adding that this area does not require accreditation.

“We appreciate the media’s understanding and cooperation in ensuring a dignified and respectful State Funeral for our departed compatriots,” the statement said.
