St James Old Boys Association Plans Requiem Mass for Anala

Africa-Press – Ghana. Dr Adu Appiah-Kubi, the Global President of the St. James Old Boys Association (JOBA), says the association has finalized processes to conduct a ‘Requiem’ mass in honour of the late Squadron Leader Peter Baafemi Anala, one of the victims of the military helicopter crash.

In an interview, Dr Appiah-Kubi said the mass would be held at the St James Seminary Chapel on Wednesday August 13, 2025, at 1830 hours.

Dr Appiah-Kubi explained that the late Sqn Ldr. Peter Baafemi Anala was among the 2007 Year Group of the St. James Seminary and Senior High School in the Bono Region

Sqn Ldr. Anala perished with seven others, including late Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister for Defense, and Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, in a tragic crash which occurred in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday August 6, 2025.

Dr Appiah-Kubi expressed the Association’s condolences to the bereaved family of the late Anala and the seven other victims and encouraged its members and other old students to attend the service.

He also urged the public to contribute financially towards the conduct of a befitting mass service and related activities too in honour the fallen hero.
