All Set for Crucial 31St GFA Ordinary Congress Amid Legal Issues

Africa-Press – Ghana. All is set for the 31st Ghana Football Association (GFA) Ordinary Congress on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

One of the agenda items at the 31st Ordinary Congress will be a proposal from GFA’s Statute Review Committee to increase the presidential term from two terms to three terms.

This move by the Statute Review Committee has sparked widespread criticism from several stakeholders in the sporting industry. Among them is Alhaji Karim Grusah, the bankroller of King Faisal FC, who has filed a court order to prevent the aforementioned motion from being considered by Congress.

In their statement of claim, King Faisal suggested that due process was not followed in altering the statute and that Congress should not discuss extending the president’s term limit.

On the other hand, the GFA says it would address all issues during a press conference after the 31st Ordinary Session of Congress.

“This will give the media an opportunity to be fully updated on the proceedings of the Congress and to answer their questions.

“As of the deadline for submission of delegates for the Congress, all 124 members of Congress had submitted their delegates for the annual gathering of the football fraternity,” a statement on GFA’s website said.
