Africa-Press – Ghana. The Volta Regional Directorate of the National Sports Authority (NSA) has called on the Volta Regional Minister to deepen collaboration on sports development in the region.
The visit introduced the newly posted Regional Director, Madam Philipina Frimpong, and the Planning and Evaluation Officer, Mr. Dzidodo Ruben Adjahoe, whose leadership is expected to drive strategic initiatives to improve sports administration and infrastructure across the Volta Region.
Key issues discussed included the formation of district and regional clubs and teams to compete at both regional and national levels, a move aimed at strengthening talent identification, athlete development, and regional competitiveness in various sporting disciplines.
The NSA also proposed an annual Regional Sports Awards to honour outstanding athletes, coaches, and stakeholders.
The scheme, they noted, would provide motivation, inspire participation, and celebrate excellence in sports.
The Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu commended the Authority’s vision, assuring them of his full support as part of government’s reset agenda, which recognizes sports as a key tool for youth development, community engagement, and regional pride.
With this renewed partnership, NSA Volta is set to work with the Minister and stakeholders to build sustainable structures that will transform sports in the region and elevate its presence on the national stage.
