Ho Hilha, Ho Ahoe Reach Finals of Asogli Te Zã Gala

Africa-Press – Ghana. The 2025 Asogli Te Zã Gala has reached a thrilling climax as Ho Hliha and Ho Ahoe prepare to lock horns in the grand finale at the Ho Sports Stadium on October 14.

The much-anticipated showdown will see the two youthful and determined communities square off after eliminating some of the competition’s most experienced sides in hard-fought semi-final clashes.

Ho Ahoe earned their ticket to the final in dramatic fashion after edging past Ho Bankoe in a penalty shootout. The tense match ended 2–2 in regulation time before Ahoe triumphed 5–3 on penalties to the delight of their supporters.

Similarly, Ho Hliha stunned Ho Dome, one of the competition’s traditional powerhouses, with a decisive 2–1 victory in their semi-final encounter. The win signaled Hliha’s intent to go all the way and lifted hopes of a maiden title.

Mr. Daniel Kpotor, a member of the organizing committee, said the final promises to be one of the most exciting in recent memory. “Both sides have proven themselves with grit and skill. The youth have shown that they can carry the torch of community pride,” he stated.

The Gala, a key sporting highlight of the Asogli Te Zã Festival, has for years brought together communities within Ho to compete for glory and unity through football. It is often described as a display of youthful energy, discipline, and cultural pride.

Fans have already begun expressing their expectations ahead of the October 14 clash, with many predicting a tough battle between two evenly matched sides. “This is going to be fireworks,” said Mr. Kofi Adzah, a Ho resident. “Ahoe has speed, but Hliha is very tactical. I can’t wait to see who wins.”

The matches so far have drawn large crowds, filling the Ho Sports Stadium with colour, chants, and music. Supporters wave flags, beat drums, and sing traditional war songs to spur their teams on, creating a carnival-like atmosphere.

For the youth players, the competition has become a platform to showcase their talent and attract attention beyond the community. Some past participants have gone on to feature in regional and national leagues, underscoring the importance of the Gala as a breeding ground for talent.

According to the organizers, adequate security measures would be in place for the final, while arrangements are being made to ensure smooth entry for fans and dignitaries expected to attend the grand occasion.

The Gala is one of several sporting and cultural activities lined up as part of the Asogli Te Zã, a festival that celebrates unity, tradition, and development within the Asogli State.

As October 14 approaches, anticipation is growing across Ho and beyond, with the stage set for Ho Hliha and Ho Ahoe to write their names in the history books of the Asogli Gala.

The trophy, organizers say, will symbolize not just football glory but also the spirit of resilience and community solidarity that the festival represents.
