Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghana has recorded a significant year-on-year increase in its gold reserves for the month of September, adding 9.85 tonnes to its national holdings.

Data from the Bank of Ghana indicates that the country’s total gold reserves climbed to 37.06 tonnes as of September 30, 2025.

This marks a substantial increase compared to the 27.21 tonnes held on the same date in September 2024.

The addition of 9.85 tonnes over the 12-month period represents a robust growth of approximately 36.20 per cent.

Further analysis reveals the sustained trajectory of the gold purchase programme.

In September 2023, the total gold holding stood at 16.94 tonnes.

The current figure of 37.06 tonnes therefore represents an overall addition of 20.12 tonnes in just two years, effectively more than doubling the national gold reserve in that period.
